100 CCTV Cameras in Ladies Coaches in Trains
Railways to install nearly 100 CCTV cameras in ladies coaches in major trains. These safety measures has been taken in view of increasing reports from women passengers traveling lonely in trains.
CCTV cameras will be installed based on technical suggestions from Chennai coach factory. Women passengers often complaining that men are also boarding the ladies coaches and causing inconvenience to women passengers. This could be reduced by this advanced CCTV camera surveillance.
Also Indian railways planning to provide access controls at major stations and x-ray scanners to safeguard the railway premises.
Till now railways have equipped with 7275 CCTV surveillance cameras across 310 railway stations.
