Dhanbad-Patna Intercity Express attacked by Maoists today, 13 June 2013

It is unfortunate that Maoists attacked a Passenger train in Bihar today around 1PM.This happened near Jamui station in Munger District of Bihar. About 100 Maoists suddenly attacked innocent people in the train. The incident took place in Train No. 13331 Dhanbad-Patna Intercity Express.

Immediately after the hijack they started firing at RPF Jawans. At least two security personnel, four passengers and driver got injured by them. Two persons shot dead in this attack. Out of which one was a RPF Jawan and the other was a passenger of S2 coach. Witness says they mainly targeted S1 and S2 Coaches of the train. The train was hijacked for about an hour. At the time of attack there were 5 CRPF Jawans in the train. The main aim is to snatch the weapons of Security Personnel’s, RPF Jawans.

As soon as the railway officials of Jamui came to know about the attack, they informed senior officials seeking for help. Additional CRPF Jawans from Lakhisarai and Jamui districts rushed to the spot to encounter Maoists. Things are yet not under control.The injured have been rushed to the nearest hospital.

Due to this incident many other trains got delayed.
